Citizen Science - Big Shell Counting Day

A citizen science project along the Belgian coast (in Dutch only). Organised by the popular scientific magazine EOS, the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), the environmental organisation Natuurpunt and the heritage institute Kusterfgoed. They invite citizens to become a marine scientist for one day and identify a hundered shells collected on the Belgian beaches. Beached shells can say a great deal about climate change and human activities at sea. On Saturday 17 March 2018 citizens can participate in ten municipalities along the Belgian coast.
